Hi Eugene!!

I'm very excited about my new cameras!! I'm going to charge the battery on the 7D then wrap it up for Mark to give me on Christmas Day so all of my questions will come after Christmas! =) And the S90 Powershot is for my bd on 1/26 so I can't play with it til then!! I'm excited I have both of these gifts to look forward too!!

Eugene, THANK YOU for all you've done for me / us since we became your customers in 12/03!! During this 6 years, I've bought 4 BIG cameras from you and 2 pocket cameras from you - all Canon. Since this 6 years, you've replaced 2 cameras (In early 04, the Rebel - you nor Canon could figure out why the pictures were dark so you gave me a new one) and in 6/08 you replaced my 40D that was 6 months old when it crashed at Jonathan's high school graduation and left me in tears). I just want you to know your generosity and customer service have and will always keep me coming back to you! And this is another reason why I always tell everyone where I get my equipment!

Due to a strange set of circumstances, I located your website today. After a three hour drive to the Dallas area to purchase a lens from a well known franchise camera shop I was told that the lens was on backorder and not in stock as I was told yesterday. An internet search lead me to your website. I called and spoke with a gentleman whom I can only assume was the owner as he was very knowledgeable and extremely courteous. You did have the lens in stock and it was $200 less than the price of your competitor! Thank you for answering my questions about the lens over the phone and for being so helpful in the store. Eugene, last question I promise ... have browsed on DPreview and Fred Miranda last night and somewhere there I read something to the effect that if your Canon product was purchased with a USA warranty card , this warranty will be honoured worldwide. Are you aware of anything to this effect? I assume all the items you will be supplying me comes with a USA warranty? I have emailed Canon South Africa regarding this yesterday, but I think they are a bit reluctant to answer at this stage.

I just received the used Canon 300mm f 2.8 from UPS. You had told me over the phone that is was very clean, you were wrong, it was spectacular. I could not be more pleased. This is the third piece of photography equipment I have purchased from your store and each time you seem to outdo the prior purchase. My friends could not believe I spent over $3,000, sight unseen for a piece of used equipment, I have spent the afternoon making believers out of them. Dear Eugene & Co.,

I first heard about your store last year. My instructor had plugged you guys in just about every class. He warned us, however, to expect a more "New York" way of handling things . . . which kind of intimidated me. More than a little.

So, rather than go to you guys, I went to Wolf. Where I bought a $1200.00 camera, which I outgrew in 6 months.

Time after time, conversation after conversation with other photographers, your name and store kept coming up. So, last month I mustered up all of my courage and visited you. With two kids in tow, I just knew I'd either be laughed at or ignored.

I'm pleased to say, I was greeted with neither. Rather, you welcomed my children with a smile and patience, and you showed even more of the latter with me as I asked you questions about the Nikon D300. And while I peppered you with photography questions, my son shot you question after question regarding all things Star Wars. And, somehow, you managed to answer both of us, while juggling a few other customers at the counter and some on the phone.

We've since been back to see you 3 or 4 times now. My kids can't wait to see the Camera Man, and I can't wait to learn more about the world of photography through your quick 5 minute lessons. A jedi master you are!

From day 1, I have only felt respected and valued since setting foot in your store, and my only regret is that I didn't come to see you before my first $1200 purchase 6 months ago. Rest assured, I'll only buy from you guys from here on out.

I just wanted to thank the two of you for running such a wonderful business. It is always a joy to walk in your store and see the two of you, Father and son working side by side. That in itself is a blessing and something that you both may take for granted but it is truly a gift from the Lord. I appreciate your honesty and that I can trust what you say about a product. The first time I came to your store almost a decade ago, I was a little hesitant to believe all that I was told. But quickly saw your place flooded with people that had been coming to you for years and that trusted you and your opinions. I can't tell you all of the questions you have answered for me. I use to drive for years from FTW to Dallas to get anything I needed. Then Jeff opened his store. Now I do get things from Jeff and have enjoyed all that you all poured into him over the years he was with you all. Though I have missed the element of doing business with your family. I called today and your dad told me he had one camera left and I decided last minute to drive to Dallas and get the camera from y'all and decided not to go to Jeff's. I would not have done that on such a whim if I had not trusted you all. As I walked in I was taken back to my memories of ten years ago. But this time I was not the least bit hesitant, to trust what you told me and it was a joy to have just spent over $1300.00 with you all. I still even after all these years love to see you two working together. I love to see the closeness of your family and the way that you all work with you clients. Ramsey - By accident I found you on line the other day. It was so good to see the picture of you, Mary, and Eugene. You may be looking a little older, but Mary and Eugene look just like they did when Peggye and I were retiring in 1993 and rented the apartment from you all. I still do a little photography - just for my own pleasure. At age 76 we are still doing OK and travel a little and take a few pictures . I'm sure Gina is not the pretty little girl I remember, but is now a beautiful young lady. So good to see that you all are still doing well.

Dear Competitive Cameras associate,

I recently bought a Nikon D80 from you guys and I want to give you a huge thank you for your wonderful, helpful services on picking the camera out. I didn't know too much on what to pick as my first D SLR camera but your associates where very friendly and they steered me to the D80. I didn't get the name of the associate who helped me but I can tell you that on your website, its the man standing on the left of the picture that helped me. Kudos to him!! I thank him profusely. Without his help, my photography would still be stuck in the stone age.

I also want to say that I love your prices! Being a teenager and having a small wallet, your prices got me the perfect camera, a second lens, a case, and memory card. I look forward to shop there again and take my photography to the next level.

I do have a question though, when do you recommend getting the sensor cleaned? I am into nature/wildlife photography and change lens frequently. By the way, I am looking for a good Macro lens. Any recommendations that won't take a huge chunk in my wallet?

Hi there at Competitive Cameras,

I came in from Canada from the holidays and opened up the Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 that I bought from you in the Summer. I have been storing it unopened at my mom's house since I bought it. My plan was to scan in a couple thousand of my mother's slides while I was in town, and I have had nightmares about the time crunch and maybe something not working, but everything is going smoothly! The scanner has been working non-stop since I got here. And despite the bad reviews that I read on the Internet about the batch slide attachment, it's amazing! It's working really well. I can go out and do errands while the scanner is doing the work. I'm so pleased to be able to do this for my mom. ...

The Roadster CD burner that I bought is also working really well, and the digital Rebels too ...

Thank you, once again, for such great prices, good service and knowledgeable people. You're always quick to answer the phone, you know what you have in inventory, and there are people there who know the ins and outs of all the products that you sell.

I bought a Nikon D70 yesterday. Great experience. I bought an N80 & a couple of lenses from you a while ago. Been out of the darkroom a couple of years, but I used to buy lots of supplies as well. Anyhow, the store looks nice and clean and well stocked. The wall O' D70s was amazing to see.

What I said in the store that day when Ramsey asked me about service was true, every word. Anyone who has more than a passing need for photographic equipment and supplies would be well served to develop a good relationship with a single vendor, giving that vendor a reason for giving something more than a hi & bye, which can be developed thru loyalty.

I have received good value for what I pay you for goods and services. I receive EXCELLENT value for the things I DON'T have to pay for, especially advice I rely on because I don't have time to know all there is to know about a particular range of choices when considering an acquisition. Sure, I could research it, but in most cases I can trust you, pay you a bit more in a lot of cases and be WAY ahead by using my time more productively in other endeavors.

I have known Ramsey for a long time - several years before you moved to your new location. In all that time up until this day I have never been mistreated, got a raw deal, or failed to be helped when I needed it. All of you are honorable people of your word and deserve respect in your industry and continued success in your business.
